Is hard work really the secret of success? Or maybe there’s another secret people know that makes them successful while others are struggling? For me the secret of success is strategy, not effort but strategic effort. You can actually do less and get more. There are people in this world who do more but get less. Why is that so? It is probably because they lack head knowledge, while they put so much effort physically, they lack the wisdom necessary for amazing results. There is what I can call luck, which is being at the right moment at the right time. At that moment you can meet the right people that can change the trajectory of your life. Being in the right circumstance plays a great role in making people successful. But luck doesn’t depend on us. Luck depends on God. So do you need to work really hard? No you don’t. You need smart work, wisdom and God’s intervention. I know a lot of people who work hard but never seem to make enough money as they desire. Success responds mostly to wisdom and knowledge rather than to effort. Wise people have a plan, they organize themselves, they have clarity. Wise people become successful because they are proactive and intentional. They make things happen, they don’t let things happen to them and just accept them. They know where they are going and which step to take in order to get them there. What I’m trying to say is, don’t overwork yourself and get underpaid. Be strategic with your effort, only do things that are productive. Simplify your life and focus your energy only on what you know will bring planned results. Do you have a vision for your life? The Bible says that: “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). Are you letting life happen to you? Or you are letting God in partnership with you control it. Include God in everything you do and work smart, not hard.
